In the operation TBL has implemented biological controls for rats and leaf pests in all of the estates. Pal oil mill effluents and empty fruit bunch have been applied to the fields in the plantation for cultivation and compost. These efforts have been recognized by the Indonesian Government as reflected in TBL’s “BLUE” status under the environmental standards, called “PROPER”, set forth by the Ministry of Environmental.
